The word can mean many things to many people.
For some it may mean someone who supports them, showing them his love by having a home for them to live in, a car to drive, clothes, and other things.
For some, it may mean someone who is always there for them. Listening to them, but also directs them and guides them.
For some, it may mean someone who has never been there. They never knew or saw their dad.
For some, it may mean someone who abused them, used them, treated them like they were nothing.
There are many types of dads in this world but there is only one Father. Matthew 23:9 “Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
He is someone who will be there whether you are sitting in a prison cell, sleeping under a roof of a nice home, living in a mansion, or on the street.
He is someone who will never turn away from you, even in your darkest times. He is still right there.
He is someone who will correct you, convict your heart when you do wrong, then gives you a gentle hug by speaking through His word or through someone.
He is someone who wants the best for you and nothing else and He wants you to do well in all you do.
He is someone who loves you so much He sent His, Son, Jesus, to take your sins upon Him and die for you on the cross.
He is someone, who will come running, no matter how far gone you think you are, in His eyes, you are never to far gone to be saved. You see He knows what you are worth. You are worth His love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. He wants nothing more than for you to be with Him in heaven. He doesn’t ask a lot but for some, they may consider it’s more than they can give and that’s their heart.
He is called by many names…. The Alpha and the Omega, Abba, Almighty God, I AM and others.
He is our Maker, the maker of Heaven and earth, the One who knew us before we were born. The One who knows everything about us and yet still loves us.
No matter what you call Him. Your Father, your Daddy or God, He loves you more than you can ever imagine.
The next time you are thinking about Him, talking about Him, reading His word, or being quiet before Him, maybe think about these verses…….
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved.
Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Psalm 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.
